It's necessary to use a tracea tube to administer the oxygen during surgeryAfter the dog is asleep, a tracea tube is carefully passed down the throat so that a mixture of oxygen and anesthesia can be administered during the surgery.
A needle is inserted into a leg veinA needle has been inserted into a vein in the leg so that injections of pain relief and antibiotics may be administered after surgery. This prevents the necessity of having to cause the animal to undergo any further anxiety and pain while future "shots" are given. The needle has been taped into the veinThe needle has been secured to the leg with tape to prevent accidental movement or loss.
