Welcome to Whitney's Online!

We have articles about pet care that we hope will help you to understand your pet's diagnosis, pages that show and explain orthopedic and other surgeries, ultrasound diagnostics, emergency first-aid tips, pet hazards to be aware of, fun ways to exercise with your pet, and treat recipes that you can make at home. We also have articles about traveling with and taking care of your Best Friend.

You may want to start with a list of our Care and Diagnosis Articles, and then look over our Services Page.

We had our successful Open House on May 17th and we'll be posting photos of the Good Times shortly!

With current temperatures running in the upper 80°'s, we all need to be aware of the dangers that our pets face when they're playing outside. We have an article about Summer Care of Pets that you may want to look over.

Dr. Hayes will be giving a talk about Skin Allergies in pets on Tues. evening - June 24th and Dr. Baker's next Puppy Hour will be in late June.

If you couldn't make the Arthritis talk, you may want to read Dr. Hayes' finished handouts about Arthritis in Pets, | Senior Pet Blood Panels, and a related article about What the Blood test means. After you read those, you may want to read Senior Pet Care.

There are a lot of deer ticks this year! The extra rain has encouraged a heavy crop to hatch and multiply. (It also seems like there are a lot more ants than usual. Don't you think so?) Take a moment and read up about Lymes Disease! This Extremely Serious Disease affects both humans and their pets! A little prevention can save you from this disease. They'll hitch a ride inside with your pet and happily transfer to you when you're sitting down for the evening.

Our Doctors recommend giving heartworm tablets all year for prevention of heartworm and other parasites. Also, don't discontinue your flea-prevention. Especially if you take your dog or cat with you to pet stores, training clubs, dog shows, or even the homes of other family members. You don't want to bring the little pests home with you. (How awkward would that be at the next family reunion?) Fleas carry tapeworm and other parasites and they try to ride along when your pets come inside; so they could be waiting for your little "walking lunch" to come along.

Our pets really, really love this dog treat recipe.

Would you like to share your pet's picture with family and friends? Remind us to take its' picture when you're here for its' exam!

How about a little fun for the younger set? Let them try one of our Crossword Puzzles. They're based on our handouts, so they can look the answers up if they get stumped.

As pets get older, they are less able to cope with the changing temperatures and the stresses of hard play! If you're not sure how your pet is doing, the following articles may help:
Your cat's life cycle | Your dog's life cycle | Your Senior Pet | Your pet's age
National Pet Wellness Month
Does your Pet need a Wellness Exam? | Is Your Cat Healthy?"
